Pyrotrons was founded in 2020, born of TJ's passion for power electronics and his desire to explore plasma physics.

After working for NASA at the Johnson Space Center's Rocket Propulsion Lab, TJ joined the Tesla coil industry. He has amassed 25 years of experience building and installing coils at dozens of museums around the world and touring with bands such as Metallica and Trans-Siberian Orchestra. 

TJ realized that many of the effects companies he worked with were not taking advantage of recent advances in semiconductor technology. He started Pyrotrons to explore these new technologies, and to see how far they can push power electronics and plasma physics. His goal is to create safe, dynamic displays of the beauty and power of electricity.
